Homeschool Freedom
Liberty is freedom with responsibility. Biblical Classical Community families value God-given Liberty. A part of that Liberty is the responsibility of educating and discipling our children. The best way to maintain homeschool freedom is to maintain independence.

Homeschool freedom means responsibly educating our children, and in the way that we parents choose is best for our families.
Homeschool Freedom Encompasses Several Things
Webster’s 1828 definition of education concisely and accurately lays out responsible teaching:
- the bringing up, as of a child, instruction
- formation of manners
- Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations.
- Giving children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.
Maintaining Independence
Biblical Classical Community teachers believe that God entrusts children to their parents. Homeschool freedom entails parents directing their children’s education. Parents have the liberty and responsibility to teach their children or choose whom they want to teach them.
Independence does not mean having no support. It means being free from receiving tax funds for education. We acknowledge that what the gov’t funds it runs. Read Vouchers: Shekels with Shackles to learn more about reasons for remaining independent from tax funds.
Depending Upon God
Homeschool freedom works! As parents nurture their relationship with God, they learn to trust Him. Trusting Him involves receiving support through individuals, family, your church, and volunteer organizations. It also means trusting God to provide through work.
Community Support
Parents have the ability to find community support for their homeschools via the following options:
- family
- friends
- church
- homeschool co-ops or groups
- other teachers or tutors chosen by the parents
